The CL500 wears its retro scrambler styling well — a flat seat, twin exhaust pipes, and a blacked-out engine give it real character at a standstill. But it's built on a genuinely modern platform, with the same reliable twin-cylinder engine and rider aids you'd expect from a current Honda. It's a bike for riders who want something that looks like it has a story, without actually needing one yet.

Tank knee pads, rubber gaiters, and a blacked-out finish across the engine and frame give the CL500 genuine scrambler character.

When riding in less-than-ideal conditions, front and rear disc brakes and the standard Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) help you stop more smoothly and in control.

A natural, upright riding position and a flat, roomy seat mean the CL500 is as comfortable on a long ride as it looks parked out front of a café.

A negative LCD display is housed in the 100mm, easily readable ring. The minimal display has an illuminated engine diagnostic indicator, clock, odometer, digital speedometer, and gear position indicator.

A classic round headlight shape houses modern LED lighting, so the CL500 gets genuine retro looks without giving up modern visibility.

With a lighter lever, the assisted clutch facilitates smoother gear changes.
