The KLE500 brings real rally styling to a genuinely manageable adventure platform — a relaxed, upright riding position and light handling mean it's built for all-day exploring rather than just looking the part in a showroom. A compact 451cc parallel-twin keeps things approachable, while an assist and slipper clutch takes the effort out of the controls, so covering unfamiliar roads stays enjoyable rather than tiring.
A smooth-accelerating engine provides power on demand to explore dirt roads or comfortably travel down the highway. The responsive engine and rider-friendly character facilitate control and add to confidence in a wide range of riding situations.
The KLE500’s original high-tensile steel trellis frame is the foundation for this high-performance adventure machine. Engineers focused on real-world versatility and enjoyment over a range of conditions—from unpaved roads to forest trails—positioning the KLE500 as a true bridge between day-to-day and adventure riding.
A genuinely upright, comfortable riding position keeps the KLE500 easy to live with over a full day of exploring, rather than just for short rides.
Know-how from Kawasaki’s KX series was used to determine the handlebar and footpeg positions to offer excellent controllability when standing. KX influence also shaped the KLE500’s bodywork and engine covers, which were designed to be smooth and unobtrusive as the rider shifts their weight on the bike.
Exploring dirt roads demands a suspension that balances ride comfort with excellent absorption on rough surfaces. A specially designed front fork and New Uni Trak rear suspension provide ample wheel travel, boosting rider confidence on any terrain.
ø300 mm front and ø230 mm rear disc brakes offer sure stopping power. Selectable ABS allows riders to disable the ABS function according to preference.
The KLE500 features rally-inspired styling with a tall front cowl that enhances visibility for the rider, even while standing. Clear plastic panels around the cowl improve wind protection and create a compact, functional look.
The rally-style fuel tank was designed to sit high in consideration of ground clearance. It holds 16 litres, which paired with good fuel economy, delivers ample single-tank range.
The ability to carry two panniers and a top case (available as Kawasaki genuine accessories) at the same time gives riders many options for touring setups. This is made possible by a well-reinforced rear frame able to carry high loads and provide a composed ride at higher speeds.
The tall, adjustable windshield offers three positions: standard height, 27 mm higher, and 55 mm higher. The lowest setting maximizes visibility for seated off-road riding, while the highest setting shields the rider from wind at high speeds.
Both the full LCD instrument panel on the standard model and the TFT display on the SE model offer smartphone connectivity via RIDEOLOGY THE APP MOTORCYCLE, which lets riders connect to their machine wirelessly for an enhanced motorcycling experience.
